Aiming to inspire the next generation of XR innovators, creatives, and more.

AIXR, the not for profit trade body for immersive industries, has now launched its job profiles in collaboration with ScreenSkills, Creative & Cultural Skills and the Creative Industries Federation.
The job profile page is part of a wider remit to support the growth in the industry. Feedback from AIXR members and advisory panels often pointed towards lack of talent as one of XR’s biggest throttles to the industry’s growth.
Some of the most complicated positions in XR fuse immersive technology with another specialism, and finding someone with the interdisciplinary skill sets is proving challenging. By pointing out these interdisciplinary positions, AIXR hopes to help guide young people and students to find and learn about the right career path for them.
These job profiles will also be available from DiscoverCreative.Careers, which has created a one-stop-shop website to help young people discover the opportunities available to them. Young people can personalise their search results to their own interests/talents, then save this as a unique results page.
Daniel Colaianni, Chief Executive of AIXR, said about the newly released job profiles: “Our members and steering panels have both heralded the XR skills gap as one of their biggest barriers to growth. We are proud to be a part of the Creative Careers Programme to tackle the root of the problem, education.”
AIXR plans to continue contributing to the DiscoverCreative.Careers job portal, with plans for it to become a complete encyclopedia of jobs available in the XR space.
