Student XR Careers Workshop
by The Academy of International Extended Reality & London College of Communication
Inspiring the next generation of immersive industry pioneers
We are inviting a selection of London based schools and colleges to enroll 16 – 18 year old students that have an interest in immersive technologies to participate in a free Virtual & Augmented reality workshop designed to meet Gatsby 6-7 benchmarks and promote career and learning paths within the industry.
During the workshop students will learn about the vast amount of opportunities within the immersive industries (or XR Industries), from Fashion to Construction. During the workshop students will hear from specialist companies to find out what they do, and what kind of people they work with.
Taking it to the next level students will then be given the opportunity to map out on paper what an ideal XR experience is, and then with the assistance of group mentors, wire frame and design a simplistic version of the experience using VR hardware such as the Oculus Quest and AR hardware like the Magic Leap.
How to see this workshop:
We are working directly with educational institutions for a maximum of 40 places in total, on a first come first serve basis.
Schools should first email [email protected] expressing their interest, after which they may direct students to this page to reserve their place.
Student must be from London based educational institutions and aged between 16 – 18.
