XR Healthcare Advisory Group
Educating the public on the clinical uses of immersive technology and working relentlessly to support the XR healthcare sector.
Empowering the XR Healthcare Industry
The XR Healthcare Advisory Group consists of a number of experts working across the healthcare sector, from creating XR software for therapeutics and mental health to training clinicians, this group will provide solutions to difficult challenges within healthcare through a combination of reports, best practises and guidelines.
A core remit of this group is educating the public about the uses of virtual and augmented reality for healthcare. We will publicly distribute our reports and guidelines in order to provide insight into why immersive technology needs to be recognised as a revolutionary development within healthcare. With these initiatives, the group will shine a light on this emerging industry.
The wider remit of the group expands to finding ways to positively shape the future of the XR healthcare sector by first, evaluating the current state of the industry and second, proactively making an impact through reports and white papers. We will also look to guide the discussion on regulation on immersive technology and the knock-on effects this might have on healthcare.
Our Panel Members
Matthew Bramlet CEO, Enduvo – Chairman
Matthew Bramlet, MD is a pediatric cardiologist directing the congenital cardiac MRI program at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
His success in congenital heart disease surgical planning through 3D printing led to the creation of the Advanced Imaging and Modeling (AIM) Lab within Jump Simulation which offers up free segmentation for programs seeking 3D modeling for pre-surgical planning of complex congenital heart disease.
The AIM lab invented a virtual reality authoring capability to meet the needs of teams needing to rapidly convey complex 3D problems. He founded Enduvo, Inc. to transition the tool from a research model to a scaled solution. His current research at the University of Illinois studies the efficiency and effectiveness of VR educational models as well as 3D segmentation of patient-specific pathologies.

Maria Tansey Founder, Virtually Clinical
Maria Tansey is the founder and CEO of Virtually Clinical, which is the first of its kind in the UAE and in the world. It’s a (non-medical) clinic which combines the phenomenal power of the mind with the power of the latest technologies including VR, AR and AI.
Providing an innovative solution to traditional talk therapy in a truly immersive environment. At every step of your transformational journey, they have included elements of immersive technology or immersive techniques to give you fast and lasting changes.
Her journey started when she set up her own business in the UAE as an NLP Coach and Clinical Hypnotherapist and after a few years, and working with a few hundred clients she realised that ‘only talking’ sometimes wasn’t enough to help some people and that to help clients to let go of their presenting problems easily, it was necessary to activate as many senses in them as possibly by taking them through a series of immersive experience rooms, such as a ‘hospital’ room, a VR studio and a image styling experience complete with sound effects and different smells throughout the clinic.
The goal of the clinic is help clients let go quickly and easily at the same time as removing the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health challenges; by providing a futuristic look and feel without the traditional clinic setting.
